Sydney Olympic Park Authority is pleased to announce that funding has been provided to upgrade the existing playing surface of the Olympic Hockey Pitch.
In what will be an exciting update, the work will comprise of a new playing surface, supporting shock pads, removal of existing infield sprinkler pits and regrading works to adjust base levels.
Last replaced in 2008, the surfaces will be the latest and most sophisticated in Australia capable of hosting local training and competition through to international events featuring our national teams the Hockeyroos and Kookaburras.
Pitch 2 will still operate as normal and will feature in some resurfacing works at a later stage.
The Olympic Hockey Pitch is expected to be out of action for a period of time immediately following the 2018 season. We anticipate confirming a start date with the successful contractors in September 2018 and will try to minimise disruption as much as possible.
